Here are some of the highlights from 2022 and last year. This year is going to be a busy one so please check back for regular updates.
Local Primary School
The year 5 students have been learning the importance of sustainable fishing and how angling can be used as a therapy for good mental health. Their teacher (Outdoor Learning) left us the following review. "The kids had a great time today. When they are keen for the next session you know it's gone well."
Rob's first time fishing
Father and son joined us to try fishing for the first time. Rob was concerned about Alex's phobia of fish but we soon cured that and they both caught loads of fish. "Took my 8 year old fishing for the first time. He really enjoyed it, especially catching some of the bigger fish towards the end! Would definitely recommend."
We love using whips and poles for beginners. The absence of a reel and the elimination of having to cast is great for avoiding tangles. It's a devastating method even for the experienced angler.
Paul left us a great review after booking tuition. He was already an experienced angler but wanted to improve his surface fishing and stalking skills. "High quality, professional angling coaching for people of all ages and abilities. Whether you are a complete novice or just looking to improve or refresh your existing skills, Off The Scale will undoubtedly help you to achieve your angling goals."
Rob and Charlie's first time fishing
The competition was really on during a frantic winter fishing lesson with Charlie and his Dad. We caught several species and Charlie wanted to hold every fish he caught. For a 6 year old he had an amazing awareness of his surroundings and we spotted lots of wildlife as well as having loads of fun catching. Rob's feedback was that Charlie can't wait to go again and we can't wait to have them back either.
Mason and Alex's first time fishing
Alex said that Mason doesn't take to new experiences easily due to his autism but he was amazed at home he took to fishing. Mason had an incredible memory, had us in stitches with his brilliant sense of humour and apparently can't wait to come back again.
