OFF THE SCALE reserves the right to cancel a booked fishing session due to poor weather. We will try to give as much notice as possible but sometimes we may have to cancel on the day. There is more chance of this happening in winter when driving conditions and/or the location itself can be hazardous. Clients will be given the option of a credit or rebooking. If the weather is acceptable but you would rather stay in bed with a cup of hot chocolate then unfortunately refunds cannot be given so get those thermals on! If a session is cancelled part way through due to a change in weather conditions then clients can choose to take a credit or a partial refund based on the length of time they have been able to fish.

Collection & drop off service

When booking an angling coaching activity above £50 in value and you live within 15 miles of Manchester then this service will be free of charge for up to 4 people and we will add 30 minutes on to your activity for travel time. For longer journeys, there may be a charge for fuel and the time may be deducted from your session. Please contact us to discuss.

Damage to equipment

Accidents happen. That's life. If any of the equipment provided by OFF THE SCALE breaks or is lost to the water during an activity you will not be charged. The only exception is malicious damage or negligence such as continuously not following coaches instructions.

Vouchers / gift certificates

These are redeemable against any of the activities or products on our website. You are able to pay the difference if the total is more expensive. Once a voucher session has been booked, please give reasonable notice if you want to cancel (48 hours as a guideline) and you will be able to rebook. Vouchers are non refundable. You must book your voucher by the expiry date on it. This date cannot be extended. Once it has expired no refunds will be given. Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash or credit.

Activities & products

Anything purchased on our website is subject to a 7 day cancellation period. You can choose from a credit, different activity/product or receive a full refund. If you have received a product, you will be responsible for the postage costs to return it and it must be in the condition it was sent in.

Conduct

We will provide friendly and professional angling tuition and always treat you with respect. This is expected from our clients too. Any client who continuously ignores our instructions or is acting in a manner that could put our coaches or themselves in danger, may have their session cancelled. Any abusive or threatening behavior, racism, sexism and continuous foul language may result in the activity being cancelled without a refund. We have zero tolerance to possession or taking of illegal drugs on our activities.

Venues

Although we have our own fishery, we will often visit different venues and these will have their own rules. We will ensure you are aware of them but any client who continuously breaches rules may have their activity cancelled without a refund.

Client obligations

All participants must hold a valid Environment Agency rod licence.
Under 13s do not require a licence.
13 to 16 year olds require a junior licence (free of charge).
16 to 65 year olds require full licence and over 65 require a concession licence.

It is your responsibility to make sure you tell us in advance if you have any special requirements, medical conditions (we need to know about), allergies, food, drink and appropriate clothing for the weather. We'll try to provide the awesome day you expect.. By purchasing a session or voucher, it is our assumption and our clients responsibility to ensure that you have read, understood and agreed to all Terms and Conditions before buying.
